Fun in the snow today!
On Monday for those children who are attending school …..please could all nursery – P2 children go to the nursery entrance. Children from P3-P7 should go to the flat roof building using the P3/4 entrance (door nearest the shinty pitch). Children do not need to wear school uniform. Please ensure children are dressed warmly and with sensible footwear as we hope to spend at least some time outside.
Water update ….one burst pipe has been fixed but the workers have just discovered another one. I am very much hoping this gets resolved this afternoon. 🤞
Our updated Risk Assessment for school and nursery can be found on the website under the publications section.
School will be closed to ALL pupils and staff tomorrow as we have no water. I very much hope it will be fixed before Monday. 🙏🤞I will still be in school from 10am to 11am on Friday so that pupils can pick up chrome books or any other items required for home learning. Apologies but this is out with my control! Take care and keep washing your hands! ….or use sanitiser in my case! 😊🙈
I am sure you will all be aware of the First Minister’s announcement yesterday informing us all that schools will be closed to the majority of pupils until 1st February.
We are all aware of how fast this new strain of the Coronavirus is spreading as our own community has been significantly affected in the past couple of weeks.
Staying at home remains the safest place for your children to be. However this will not be possible for everyone and school will be open for those families who need it.
Thank you to those of you who have completed the application for key worker places – these currently can all be honoured and you should send your children to nursery/school on your requested days. I have also been in touch with others who should send their children in on agreed days.
For those children attending, nursery and school will operate at the usual hours. School lunches will be available but children can take in a packed lunch if they prefer.
This week the provision is for childcare only so pupils can take a small toy/activity/book with them to keep them occupied, as per the letter issued by Highland Council prior to the holidays.
From Monday 11th January staff will try their best to support children with teaching and learning activities set by class teachers on google classrooms.
ALL pupils, whether at school or home, are expected to register and complete work on a daily basis from 11th January.
In school, pupils will be in small groups and remain in these groups throughout the day to limit the spreading of germs as much as possible. All previous regimes of hand washing/sanitising/cleaning of resources and equipment will be closely followed.
For those attending school in the next few weeks…
Children from nursery to P2 should enter through the nursery door.
P3-4 should enter through the door at the front of the building (where P1/2 usually line up).
P5-7 should enter through the main door at reception (where P6/7 usually line up).
If you require a place for your children to attend school in the coming weeks and have not yet requested this, please get in touch with me as soon as possible at email@example.com
As always I thank you for your support in this ever changing landscape. We promise to keep your precious children, and our precious staff as safe as we possibly can.
As you are aware school and nursery will be closed to the majority of pupils until Monday 18th January. All pupils will be expected to take part in learning and teaching via their google classrooms during the week beginning 11th January.
School will, however, be open to some pupils from Wednesday 6th January. I contacted some parents about offering places for children before the holidays.
If you are a key worker and require childcare then you must complete the google form to reserve a place for your child/children at school. The link for this is on the email sent out by Tracey Ritchie on 22nd December. Please ensure this is completed by Monday 4th January at the latest.
There has been a rise in local cases recently, so please to ensure everyone is as safe as possible, only use this service if you have no other option.
Likewise, if you have reserved a place and no longer require it, or need to change days please let me know by emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I hope you are all well and safe. Take care.
This morning I have contacted most of the P6/7 parents to inform them of a positive case in the class. If I couldn’t speak to you directly then a message was left on your voicemail.
If your child was not in school on Monday 21st or Tuesday 22nd then this does not affect you.
A letter will be sent out shortly from the Health Protection Team for close contacts. Another letter will also be issued to all parents.
Take care and Happy Hogmanay to you all!
There has been a positive covid case in school – this time a member of staff. All close contacts have been phoned by Mrs Fraser-Lee, who has either spoken to parents in person or left messages on voicemails. All parents in school should have received an email from Mrs Fraser-Lee with a letter attached from the health protection team. All parents of close contacts should also have received an email from Fiona Shearer with another letter in addition to this. Apologies for contacting you on Boxing Day. Take care.
Another gymnast in school – well done to Finlay for completing his level 8 certificate in gymnastics! He’s only been going for a few weeks so is feeling very chuffed with himself and quite rightly so!
