Garden Group Visit

Thanks to the Community Garden for allowing the Beauly School Garden Group to visit their lovely garden. The children got a chance to explore the garden and then they helped out by planting and watering.

They were rewarded with some juice and biscuits for all their hard work. We had a great afternoon and would love to visit again!

A big Thank You From The Eco Group.

The Eco group would like to give a big thank you to all the pupils and parents who helped make our book swap last Thursday such a big success.

We are happy to report that all children who brought a book from home left with a new book and story to enjoy.

Here are some photos of very happy and excited children with their newly swapped books.

Primary One’s Visit to the Priory

Today primary one visited the Priory and learned when it was built and who lived in it. We were told all about it by Mrs Rosie MacDonald, so a big thank you to her for giving up her free time.

We also looked at the old sycamore tree. We tried to see how many children with arms stretched wide could fit round it.

When we got back we painted some pictures of the Priory.

Primary One Outing

Primary One will be going to visit the Priory tomorrow to find out about the history of Beauly. A big thanks to Mrs Rosie MacDonald who has agreed to come and share her knowledge about the Priory with us.
Please wear a hat and sun cream if it is going to be another beautiful day as we will be out most of the morning.
Today Primary One made the most of the beautiful weather and went to the garden.

Beauly Primary Book Swap

On Thursday the 24th of May 2018 the Eco Group will be hosting a book swap in each class to encourage pupils to Reuse, Reduce and Recycle their  books.

If each child could bring at least one unwanted book that’s in good condition and at an appropriate age level for their class. Could parents please explain to younger children that a book swap means they will be going home with a different book not their own, so as not cause any upset.

Thank you to all the pupils and parents for all their support in making our book swap day a success.

Happy Swapping.

Science Week Homework

Science Week

Thanks to the team from Aigas who played games and activities with the children to help them learn about the habitats of wild animals in Scotland and about predators and prey.
The children enjoyed looking for ‘bugs’ which were hiding in the garden.

Thanks to Brodie’s Dad for coming along this afternoon to speak to the children about his job. The children listened really well and asked some interesting questions.

Finally the children in primary one used some of our school garden rhubarb to cook a crumble today. Sadly most of the children didnot enjoy it!

Primary One Walk

Primary One had a great walk yesterday and found out lots of information about the shops in Beauly for their local study. A special thank you to Alder Arts who invited us in to their shops to have a look at their paintings. Finally a big thank you to The Corner in the Square who talked to the children about the fruit and veg that they sell, then gave them all juice, fruit or a piece of delicious rocky road.
Also a big thank you from the staff for the coffee.
Primary one are now using the information gathered from the walk to create a 3D map of the village square.
