Symmetry work 🦋

Last week we were working on symmetry in maths. Some of us went outside to find some symmetry in nature, others used mirrors to check lines of symmetry and another group created symmetrical pictures with paint 🎨. It was lots of fun and we are all feeling more confident about our knowledge of symmetry.

P3/4 Open their Doors!

Thank you to all parents and carers who came along to look at our work today and spend some time in our classroom – there was a lovely buzz in P3/4 this morning. We look forward to seeing you next Wednesday 😁

P3/4 Easter Assembly Prep

Just a wee reminder that the P3/4 assembly will be next Wednesday 28th March at 2.00pm in the hall. We are sounding tuneful and beginning to know our words off by heart. If children could bring in their spring clothes (and any props they’ve been asked to take in) on Friday for a rehearsal that would be great but if you’re not entirely organised yet don’t panic – just take them in on the day 😊 We look forward to seeing you then 👒🐣🐑🐇💐🥚

P3/4 This Way That Way Forwards And Back

We have been practising using our directional language this week in maths and we wrote out instructions to get to Braeview then went to test them out. We stopped at the park on the way back purely to demonstrate clockwise and anti-clockwise on the roundabout 😉🙊

P3/4’s Busy Day

Phew! What a busy day we had in P3/4 today….
We started with a fun filled Kodally music session with Mr Thompson 🎼🎤 then we quickly got changed and went to do a bit of gymnastics with Mr McFee 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♂️. After lunch we went to our various citizenship groups and then we finished off the day learning about Fairtrade through a PowerPoint and games led by the Fairtrade group and Ms Stoddart – they even gave us some juice and a Kit Kat 🍫🥤(all Fairtrade of course! 😉)

Our visit from the firefighters 🚒

We had a really interesting visit from our local firefighters today. We learnt so much about their jobs, how to put people into the recovery position and what it feels like to wear a firefighter’s suit – including their super heavy boots!
Mrs Fraser-Lee came and joined in the fun too!
Ask us about what we found out about.

Our P4 winner!

Congratulations to Maisie who came 14th out of all of the P4-7 girl runners in our Beauly Cross Country run this morning! She took home the trophy and a gold medal for the P4 girls category. Sadly, all our other P4 girls were absent or unable to take part today. 😕. Rest those ankles tonight Maisie! Well done! 🏆🥇
